Introduction to Touch Designer – how to program almost anything
TouchDesigner is a real-time visual development platform that can be used for creating interactive media systems, immersive environments, projection mapping, sound, music visuals, building custom applications and UIs and for the rapid-prototyping of creative impulses. According to many it is by far the most accessible software in both functionality and prize (free) to create anything New-media, digital art, software-hardware interfacing, and go big solutions. This introductory workshop should give you a comprehensive overview of the software interface, its building blocks – operators and their categories, the “syntax” of combining these blocks together and eventually an ability to envision and create a desired output out of these. The workshop is beginner friendly – no prior experience with TouchDesigner or programming is implied. It is helpful though to have an idea on what you would like to use the software for and what sorts of output you’d like it to generate for you.
